Volkswagen never ceases to amaze me - there seems to be a never ending release or spy shots of new models, updated models, or official launches. Typically German - they seem to want to take over the world again - at least as far as the automotive industry is concerned.

This latest iteration of the Mark 7 Golf, indicates that VW are poised to enter the luxury small car market with a CC spec Golf. For those who don't mind investing their hard earned in a vehicle, I'd suppose that this particular model will have all the hi-tech options that  are available in the bigger brother Passat - and who knows what else. After all Golf is one of the mainstream vehicles for Volkswagen around the world and when the Germans put their mind to something, it's generally pretty good.

Inspired by the Passat CC

According to a recent report, Volkswagen is planning to launch a Golf CC in 2014.

Little is known about the model, but Autobild is reporting it will be positioned as an affordable alternative to the Audi A3 sedan and Mercedes BLS/CLA/CLC. As such, it will be a four- or five-door coupe with styling inspired by the Passat CC.

Like the standard Golf, the model would ride on the MBQ platform and feature a variety of different engines with outputs likely ranging from 60 PS (44 kW / 59 hp) to 190 PS (140 kW / 187 hp).
