I'm sitting here at work a week before Australia Day, writing this.
Whilst I'm happy to, and have regaled Sam Kekovich and the Aussie Lamb campaign, spare a thought for the other Aussie Brands or products that have slipped slowly overseas or are about to.
Vegemite, Bonds, Heinz, Fosters, XXXX, Arnotts, Four'nTwenty, Bushells, Jatz, Coon, Tim Tams, Cottees, Tip Top Bread, Milo, Iced Vo Vo's, Golden Syrup, Aeroplane Jelly, Quik, Sal Vital, Bundaberg Rum, Jaffas, Musk Sticks, Sunny Boys, Golden Circle, Pauls Milk, Peters Ice Creams, Mt Isa Mines - the list goes on.
But one thing that ABSOLUTELY sticks in my throat is that we've even allowed our AUSTRALIAN FLAG to be made offshore - NO MORE, MAKE IT LAW
Send this email to your local parliamentarian, senator, councillor, MP - everyone you can. You'll see on my list that I've copied this email to every politician in Queensland, and every Federal senator and parliamentarian. I've also put it up on a number of my blogs. Send it to you friends, at least 20 of the names on your email list - more if you can. Ask them to send the email to the pollies as well. Let these men and women, WHO WE PAY, understand that we're not happy and we want to start the Australian Flag - Australian Made campaign NOW.
If you feel the same way just tell them - NO MORE - MAKE IT LAW. Stop production of OUR Australian flag overseas and bring it back for manufacture in Australia, for Australians, by Australian companies
